Dr. Amy Salter is from Belle Fourche, South Dakota, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota. She completed her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Salter then completed a Veterans Affairs Residency Program in hospital-based optometry in Chillicothe and Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Amy is a past president of the Coastal District Optometric Society and currently a member of the American Optometric Association and NC State Optometric Society. While particularly enjoying helping patients with dry eye issues, she has also made fitting contact lenses for patients requiring specialized lens technology her primary focus.
When she’s not performing her duties as an optometrist, Dr. Amy enjoys yoga and running and is a member of the Clayton Area Runner’s Club. She also loves to bake, travel, and spend time with her family and dogs.
