Dr. Ashley Powell earned a B.S. in Psychology at UNC-Chapel Hill and later earned a doctorate of optometry at the UAB School of Optometry in Birmingham, Alabama. During optometry school she completed rotations at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, UNC Ophthalmology, Alabama Family Eye Care, and the Center for Low Vision Rehabilitation. After graduation Dr. Powell completed a residency in Primary Care at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC.

​​​​​​​She enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Powell is happy to now live in Apex with her husband and daughter.
