Strabismus, which is known more commonly as “cross-eyes” or “crossed eyes,” happens when both the eyes are not looking in the same direction. This condition typically develops by the time a child turns three. Strabismus usually results from issues with the eye muscles, nerves which transmit a signal to the muscles. It is also associated with the control center in the brain that directs the eye movements.
